Understanding User Roles and Permissions in Dreem

Roles help you control who can access sensitive areas of your workspace, such as billing, user management, integrations, and workspace settings. They also make sure each teammate has the right level of access for the work they need to do.

When you invite teammates to your Dreem workspace, you’ll need to assign each person a role. Dreem has four workspace roles:

  • Account Owner

  • Admin

  • Member

  • Billing Admin

Account Owner

The Account Owner has the highest level of access in the workspace.

They can manage users, billing, settings, integrations, content workflows, and account-level actions. Account Owners can:

  • Manage users and roles

  • Manage billing, payments, and invoices

  • View billing and invoices

  • Access core platform features

  • Manage content, including creative workflows, assets, and copy

  • Manage products in PIM

  • Publish content to Shopify (coming soon)

  • Modify platform settings

  • Manage integrations and API keys

  • Export data and reports

  • Delete the account

Best for: the main workspace owner, business owner, or primary person responsible for the Dreem account.

Admin

Admins have broad workspace access and can manage most operational areas of Dreem. They can manage users, platform settings, integrations, and content workflows. However, Admins do not manage billing payments and cannot delete the account. Admins can:

  • Manage users and roles

  • View billing and invoices

  • Access core platform features

  • Manage content, including creative workflows, assets, and copy

  • Manage products in PIM

  • Publish content to Shopify (coming soon)

  • Modify platform settings

  • Manage integrations and API keys

  • Export data and reports

Admins cannot:

  • Manage billing, payments, and invoices

  • Delete the account

Best for: team leads, operations managers, ecommerce managers, or teammates responsible for managing day-to-day workspace setup and team access.

Member

Members have access to Dreem’s core platform and content workflows.

They can create, manage, and publish content, but they cannot manage users, billing, integrations, API keys, or platform settings. Members can:

  • Access core platform features

  • Manage content, including creative workflows, assets, and copy

  • Manage products in PIM

  • Publish content to Shopify (coming soon)

  • Export data and reports

Members cannot:

  • Manage users or roles

  • Manage billing, payments, or invoices

  • View billing and invoices

  • Modify platform settings

  • Manage integrations or API keys

  • Delete the account

Best for: ecommerce teams, marketers, stylists, designers, merchandisers, and other teammates who need to work with product content in Dreem.

Billing Admin

Billing Admins can manage billing-related areas without having access to content workflows or broader workspace settings.

They can manage payments and invoices, but they cannot invite teammates, manage roles, access core platform features, or manage integrations.

Billing Admins can:

  • Manage billing, payments, and invoices

  • View billing and invoices

Billing Admins cannot:

  • Manage users or roles

  • Access core platform features

  • Manage content

  • Manage products in PIM

  • Publish content to Shopify (coming soon)

  • Modify platform settings

  • Manage integrations or API keys

  • Export data and reports

  • Delete the account

Best for: finance, accounting, procurement, or operations teammates who only need billing and invoice access.

Conclusion

Account Owner is the primary owner of the Dreem workspace with full control, including account-level actions like billing management and deleting the account.

Admin is the role for teammates who manage the workspace day-to-day (users/roles, integrations, and settings) and can view billing, but cannot manage payments or delete the account.

Member is the role for teammates who create, edit, and publish content in Dreem, but don’t need access to users/roles, billing, integrations, API keys, or workspace settings.

Billing Admin is the role for teammates who only need billing access (payments, invoices, and subscription management) without access to content workflows or broader workspace settings.

Can you change someone’s role later?

Yes. If you are the Account Owner or an Admin, you can update a teammate’s role from the People section in your workspace settings.

Go to Settings > People, then select the teammate you want to update and change their role.
